UNICEF Australia Dadaab thank you

It was our pleasure to produce this video for Norman Gillespie, CEO of UNICEF Australia, thanking supporters for contributions to their aid distribution and infrastructure developmemnt in Dadaab, Kenya.

If you have the capacity, we encourage you to please help UNICEF by making a donation to assist in their incredible work in East Africa.

[Information from UNICEF Australia's website]

UNICEF has increased humanitarian assistance to countries in East Africa as a food and refugee crisis continues, made worse by a deadly combination of drought and ongoing conflict.

Over nine million people, almost two million of whom are under the age of five, will be at risk unless a rapid and speedy response is put into action by local governments.

The Horn of Africa region (which includes Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Djibouti) has seen many crises. The current drought, perhaps the worst for 60 years, threatens thousands of families already living in the direst of conditions.

UNICEF is currently supporting the rehabilitation of malnourished children in the region, in partnership with government health services, NGOs and community organisations.

In the most affected areas of Ethiopia, UNICEF has distributed ready-to-use therapeutic food for the treatment of almost 34,000 severely malnourished children.

Additionally, more than 280,000 people in drought-affected areas have gained better access to clean drinking water through UNICEF supported water schemes.

In South Somalia, UNICEF and its partners are also providing basic health care services to 885,000 people in drought and conflict affected areas. UNICEF is also scaling up nutrition services in all the affected districts of Kenya.

Please consider supporting UNICEF's emergency relief operations around the world by donating to the East Africa Emergency Appeal.
